Watch West Ham v Manchester City Live Streaming

Bellamy has spent as much time fielding questions about his dressing-room motivational speeches as his priceless goals since arriving at Eastlands from tomorrow's opponents West Ham.

He smiles at and laughs off any attempts to ask him exactly what it was he said to his team-mates after the hugely disappointing 2-0 defeat at Portsmouth a fortnight ago.

"It was nothing," he said. "It was as polite as I've ever been!"

At 29, the Welsh striker is used to the attention. It is tempting to suggest that he thrives on it, given that he has scored five goals in seven City appearances. He does admit that it was the chance of another shot at the big-time that tempted him to make the move north from Upton Park and link up again with his former Wales and Blackburn boss Mark Hughes.

Bellamy is open about the fact that he doesn't need the money.

Finance was never a consideration in his transfer - it was all about the challenge of helping the richest club in the world achieve their potential on the pitch.

And that is why he will be lining up at Upton Park tomorrow in a City shirt rather than the claret and blue of the Hammers.
